On reflection…
It's just a little early to be looking back at 2013, but I'm going to do that all the same. It's been quite a year! There have been some fantastic highs, and some loans, but on the whole it's been a good year.
Now, I'm a huge fan of life planning. The way I look at it, time will pass regardless of whether I do nothing at all, do anything that occurs to me, or whether I do things that contribute towards something that I've identified I want to achieve. And as time itself passes, whilst I'm on that journey, I might not care which of these options I take, but the at the end of that period of time it does make a difference to look back and see how what I've done has contributed to where I've got to.
I'm certainly not a slave to life planning. But I do find it helpful to take time out every six months or so to reflect on whether I'm on the right path.
So, if I look back at the things that I identified at the start of the year, I'm not doing so bad. Some I have achieved, some definitely fell by the wayside, and some now seem so irrelevant given the way that my life has gone that, had I been more diligent about reviewing the life plans I made this year, I would have taken these goals out or changed them for different ones.
